2022 Ford F-150 Raptor with a custom canopy camper
Project Raptor
Design
The Gen 3 Ford Raptor is a great platform to start with for an overlanding, hunting, and overall adventure rig. The stock suspension, gearing, and comfort of the truck is second to none; however, a few updates were needed to take the Raptor to the next level.
Suspension
A simple leveling kit using front coil spring collar spacer was added to give 2in of lift. A 1in spacer was added to the rear to preserve ~1in rake.
Tires & Wheels
Toyo R/T 37x12.5R17 tires were mounted to Method 705 Bead Grip wheels to give the truck an aggressive stance and improve the offroading.
Maintenance
Of course, all the fluids and maintenance needed to be performed on the used Raptor. While at it, might as well put on a Ford Performance differential cover. More than just show, it allows for the oil to be replaced without removing the cover again.
Canopy Camper
Now for the custom parts…
A canopy camper or wedge camper was selected for this build to provide a liveable area while out on adventures. Using a canopy camper combines the best aspects of a truck cap and roof top tent into a single piece, and provides access to the tent area through the bed of the truck.
